When thinking about your ongoing costs, it’s important to look at all the fees you pay, not just the cost of your ongoing advice. According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) the average cost a typical client pays on their investments is 1.90% per annum for everything. This includes platform provider, fund manager fees and ongoing advice.
At Orca Wealth, we are proud to say that typically our clients pay around 1.30% per annum for everything, an average saving of 0.60% per year. On a £500,000 portfolio, this is a saving of £3,000 a year for example. Our mission is simple, we want more in the pot for you so you can achieve your goals faster.
We believe that fees shouldn’t be complicated or hidden away, that’s why we are completely transparent and tell you our fees up front.
We charge a fixed one-off fee of £1,500 for the creation and presentation of your financial plan. This is where we build you a ‘roadmap’ using our state-of-the-art cashflow modelling software in order to look at what your financial objectives and aspirations are and if you are on track to meet them or not. This report will be the starting point from which we can build our recommendations and advice to you where we will then look at what products and investment solutions will be best placed to achieve these identified objectives. We ask that this fee is paid in full before moving to Step 2 in our process.
Should you decide to implement our recommendations, we use a tiered charging structure based on the percentage of any funds invested / transferred. These charges are applied as follows:
· 2.00% on the first £200,000 of your investment (subject to a minimum fee of £1,500), and then 1.00% on any amount above this.
Below are examples of how our charges could apply;
· If you invested £200,000, our fee would be 2.00% of £200,000 = £4,000
· If you invested £500,000, the first £200,000 would incur a fee of 2.00% and the remaining £300,000 would incur a fee of 1.00% i.e.
• 2% of £200,000 = £4,000
• 1% of £300,000 = £3,000
• Financial Planning Fee = £1,500
• Total fee = £8,500
We offer two different levels of ongoing service to our clients. Based on your circumstances we would recommend the right level of service for you.
Level 1 – 0.85% per annum (minimum annual charge £1,000 per year)
Our Level 1 service is typically suited for clients that require a yearly meeting with us to review and maintain their financial strategy. These clients will typically be in the ‘accumulation’ phase of building towards their objectives.
Level 2 – 1.00% per annum (minimum annual charge £1,500 per year)
Our Level 2 service is our comprehensive offering designed for clients with more complex financial strategies and/or bespoke requirements. These clients will typically be in the ‘decumulation’ phase.
